Welcome to Hinton-in-the-Hedges
We hope that this website will provide a useful source of information for both residents and visitors wishing to learn more about our community. We see this as a constantly evolving resource, designed to record past and present life in our village, whilst also promoting future events.
Hinton-in-the-Hedges is a small, charming village with records going back to the Domesday book. It is about 2 miles west from the market town of Brackley in South Northamptonshire and close to the borders of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. There are around 78 houses with a population close on 200, a parish church (The Most Holy Trinity) and our local pub, The Crewe Arms. Just up the road from the village is Hinton airfield, which dates back to World War two. These days the airfield is used primarily for skydiving and gliding
We are a lively, friendly community who enjoy getting together throughout the year at various events, including a harvest supper, the village fete, a rounders match, using our private playing field, our village cricket club and more recently a village ball. We even have our own group of thespians who put on plays for us.
Do take a tour around the website to learn more about the village. Don’t forget to come back regularly to keep up to date with local news and events. If you have any questions please use the contact page and send us a message.
